Connect DFW Highlights Reasons to Give Back

At Connect DFW, we maintain a philanthropic corporate culture because we know it truly is better to give than to receive. We give back to the community through a wide range of volunteer efforts. We have taken part in fundraising events for multiple sclerosis research and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Our firm has also donated to the One Fund. Studies have shown that volunteer work gives us a greater sense of self-worth while also helping others. Here are a few perks of contributing to the community:

·       Learning New Things: Building skills, knowledge, and expertise are some of the best side benefits of volunteering. The opportunities you’ll come upon through volunteering might not come into your life otherwise.

·       Making New Friendships: This is typically an unforeseen benefit of giving back and can be especially good for college students, retirees, and the recently re-located.

·       Seeing the World in a Different Light: Volunteering can put your problems in a whole new perspective. Interacting with people who are dealing with difficult circumstances and making the best of it is an inspiring experience.

·       Enhancing Your Self-Esteem: Helping others makes you feel better about yourself because you’re assisting someone in need. You’re also very often performing a task they can’t complete for themselves.

·       Returning the Favor: Doing something helpful for the people who have enabled your success or otherwise helped you is a great way to show appreciation.

There are so many good reasons to give back to people in need, and they certainly go beyond the few mentioned here. We at Connect DFW hope that you will take the initiative to donate your talents and time to support your community. You’ll be rewarded many times over for your efforts.

Connect DFW Volunteers at Local Food Bank

At Connect DFW, we understand that our role as industry leaders is not limited to the corporate world. We also have an obligation to help the people within our community. We owe a lot of our success to the people of Irving, and we take every possible opportunity to give back. Whether it’s through volunteer work or financial contributions, at Connect DFW we take great pride in helping non-profit groups and charity organizations carry out their important missions in our community.

Most recently, we served at the local food bank. We were responsible for filling food orders, stocking supplies and sorting donated groceries that were later distributed to families in need. It was a rewarding experience and our team felt honored to play a small part in the success of the day.

The food bank is open weekdays from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., and provides nutritious groceries on a first-come, first-serve basis to families who need assistance. They are able to offer families enough food to last for an entire week.

Last year, over 44,000 families were served at the food pantry, which is why our continued support of this group is so vital to the people of this community. If you are interested in volunteering at the food bank, you can visit their website for more information.

We know how critical it is to help the people in our community. At Connect DFW, we take this role very seriously, and we continuously find ways to better the lives of those around us. It is part of our corporate mission – we see ourselves as providing valuable services to everyone in the Irving community, both in business and in life. We look forward to the next opportunity to create positive outcomes for our city and its residents.

Connect DFW Encourages Everyone to Give Back

We at Connect DFW understand that our success is indebted to the communities in which we work. Our company maintains a commitment to serving these communities both through fundraising efforts and volunteer activities. We have fostered a philanthropic corporate culture that is reflected in our team members’ dedication to giving back.

As such, Connect DFW has recently worked with several esteemed charitable organizations, including the One Fund and Walk for Wishes. Several of our team members have also participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

There are many organizations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area that you can become involved with to serve the community. If you’re interested in assisting senior citizens in the area, ElderHelpers.org offers a great opportunity to participate on a flexible schedule. You can help elderly residents of the Dallas/Fort Worth area in a variety of ways, from physical activity to arts and crafts.

Giving back to your community doesn’t have to be limited to helping people. One of our favorite organizations in the area is Lone Star Kitties and Kanines, which helps find homes for pets. By becoming an adoption assistant, you can help match potential adopters with the best fit for their household. You’ll also be able to help socialize homeless pets by giving them love and attention.

These are just a couple of the worthy charitable organizations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area that you might consider supporting. Connect DFW urges all of our team members to do some research and find the best and most effective way for them to give back to the communities that have aided our success.
